Welcome to the Route 66 route planning page.I strongly recommend that you use an installable tool call TYRE 'Trace Your Route Everywhere".in order to take full advantage of the attached files shown below.. Downloading an itn file and opeing it in TYRE will allow you to visibly see the route that the file depicts in an internet map page. The ov2 files provide waypoints allowing you set waypaoint markers on your tomtom alerting you everytime you reach a specific location. It is very reassuring to know you are on the correct route. The itn and ov2 files work with TomTom 5 and 6. Note TomTom only allows for up to 49 itinerary entries in a file. Hence, where shown, some of the day files are too big for TomTom but work perfectly with TYRE. To accomodate this limitation, the day files have been split into smaller files i.e. Day3 becomes Day3_1, Day3_2, Day3_2 etc. For information on Tomtom itinerary itn files use the link below At the bottom of the page you will note the complete files. Once again these can be opened in TYRE, in fact I would advise you to do this so that you can view the entire route end to end however please be aware that this often takes a lot of processing power and some bandwidth. It takes around 20 mins to open this file on my own PC. By all means have a go, just bear this in mind. If your PC is underpowered it may throw up alert messages. Ignore these!
